Job summary

MERS Missouri Goodwill Industries is seeking a Retail Shift Supervisor for our Shawnee Store - Mission. You will supervise staff, enhance customer service, and uphold store standards while driving sales and efficiency.

The position requires 1 year retail management or related experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and comfort with registers and inventory software. Full-time, on-site role with competitive benefits and a monthly bonus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year retail management or related Goodwill/Warehouse experience required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including customer service, conflict resolution and teamwork.
• Leadership skills: decision-making, motivation, goal-setting, and problem-solving.
• Comfortable with workplace technology like registers, scheduling, and inventory management software.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, direct, and train assigned staff and ensure they perform their core functions.
• Provide superior customer service to drive donor/shopper retention and resolve issues swiftly.
• Coach and counsel employees on performance, including discipline when needed.
• Assign daily duties to achieve operational tasks with independent judgment.
• Identify employees for advancement based on performance and potential.
• Safeguard company property and personal information; report theft or misconduct immediately.
• Read and enforce all agency policies, procedures, and values.
• Use staffing methods to ensure proper coverage; arrange replacements as needed; payroll audits.
• Eliminate wasteful practices through process improvements.
• Maintain professional appearance aligned with dress code.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Monthly bonus up to $500.
