Job summary

Iteris is seeking a 511 Operator to provide critical traveler information and support incident response in a fast-paced environment. This on-site role requires monitoring feeds, verifying data accuracy, and publishing timely updates across dissemination channels.

The successful candidate will coordinate with agencies and Express Lanes staff, perform regular system checks, participate in after-hours support for High Profile incidents, and maintain proficiency in 511 operations while working

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Experience supervising others in high-stress environments.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and be essential personnel.

Responsibilities

• Monitor partner agency traveler information sources and feeds.
• Collect and disseminate traveler information for traffic and transit.
• Verify accuracy of traveler information before publishing.
• Coordinate with operations partners for updated traffic info.
• Respond to events and disruptions, including major incidents.
• Report events to Express Lanes operations staff for dissemination.
• Conduct notifications per escalation procedures for High Profile incidents.
• Perform periodic checks of the 511 website, phone, and channels.
• Document deficiencies and notify per SOP.
• Support emergency operations, including after-hours.
• Maintain proficiency in MTC 511 operations.
• Participate in training for existing and new systems.
