Job summary

NC State University’s Northampton County Center is seeking an Extension Program Assistant/Associate, 4-H to lead K-12 youth enrichment and summer programs in Jackson, NC. This 12-month, 0.9375 FTE position emphasizes 4-H curriculum delivery, volunteer coordination, and community partnerships to broaden reach.

The role requires building and sustaining youth programs, collaborating with county staff, and supporting under-represented populations while aligning with NC State Extension priorities.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to plan, organize, and work with adult volunteer leaders.
• Ability to relate to and understand youth and their needs.
• Experience with planning, implementing and evaluating workshops is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Establishing new 4-H clubs and recruit volunteers, especially from under-represented groups.
• Assess county needs with the 4-H Agent and Northampton Extension Staff.
• Prepare program plans with defined objectives and evaluations.
• Develop summer youth educational programs.
• Partner with schools to deliver 4-H curriculum and enrichment programs.
• Network with community resources to expand 4-H programming.
