Job summary

NC State University Extension in Montgomery County seeks an Extension Agent, 4-H (Assistant, Associate or Full Agent) to lead youth programs for ages 5-19. Responsibilities include clubs, school enrichment, volunteer management, and program evaluation. Requires a bachelor's degree and willingness to work evenings/weekends; competitive benefits.

This 12-month, 4-H focused role emphasizes partnerships with community groups and grants to support programming and positive youth development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, child or youth development or related field or equivalent.
• Experience with youth and adult populations preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to plan, implement and evaluate educational programs.
• Experience with volunteer coordination, networking, and public relations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and grow the 4-H Youth Development program through clubs, afterschool programs, school enrichment programs, Super Summer, and camps.
• Seek sponsorships, grants and other funding sources to support activities.
• Ensure accessibility of 4-H programming to youth county-wide.
• Recruit, train and coordinate volunteers and evaluate program impacts.
• Collaborate with residents, groups, professionals and volunteers.
