Job summary

NC State University’s Extension program in Gaston County seeks an Extension Agent, 4-H, to lead youth development initiatives for ages 5–19, establishing clubs, school enrichment, and camps. You will recruit and train volunteers, collaborate with schools and community partners, manage grants and program budgets, and evaluate outcomes to strengthen youth life skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with GPA 2.5 overall or 3.0 in child or youth development or related field.
• Willing to work evenings and weekends.
• Experience coordinating youth programs and volunteers.
• Ability to develop and supervise 4-H clubs and school enrichment.

Responsibilities

• Lead 4-H Youth Development programs across clubs and camps.
• Recruit, train, and supervise adult and teen volunteers.
• Develop partnerships and secure grants.
• Coordinate county-wide 4-H programs and manage resources.
