Job summary

The University of Nevada, Reno Extension is seeking a Community Based Instructor 4 to coordinate and deliver 4-H educational programs for youth ages 9 to 19 and their parents or guardians. The role involves arranging day and overnight camps, recruiting and training volunteers, and adapting curricula to meet program needs.

The position is based in Logandale, Nevada, with a requirement for a variable schedule and travel.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent education with four years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A valid Class “C” Nevada driver’s license or higher is required at start and ongoing.
• Successful fingerprinting/background check.
• Schedule requires travel and a variable schedule.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver 4-H Educational Programs for youth ages 9 to 19 and their guardians.
• Recruit and support adult and teen volunteers; provide training.
• Oversee volunteer activities and monitor engagement.
• Meet with clientele to explain program rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Adapt, compile, update, and modify curriculum; coordinate day and overnight 4-H camps and related activities.
