Job summary

The University of Nevada, Reno Extension is seeking a Community Based Instructor 4 to coordinate 4‑H programs in Clark County. This role will manage youth programs, recruit and train volunteers, and coordinate day and overnight camps from Logandale, NV.

Travel within the region is required and you will report to the Extension Officer. Responsibilities include delivering informal 4‑H sessions, updating curriculum, maintaining records in online systems, and ensuring program compliance with rules

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four (4) years of relevant work experience in areas such as agriculture, horticulture, community development, health and nutrition, human and family development, and natural resources in urban and rural areas; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
• A valid Class “C” Nevada driver’s license or higher operator’s license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
• Successful fingerprinting / background check.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver 4‑H Educational Programs for youth ages 9 to 19 and their parents or guardians.
• Recruit and support adult and teen volunteers, provide training related to program activities and requirements, and oversee volunteer activities.
• Meet with clientele to provide information and explain program rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Adapt, compile, update, and modify educational curriculum to meet program needs and coordinate and implement day and overnight 4‑H camps and related activities.
