Job summary

University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking an Extension Instructor or Open Rank Extension Educator for 4-H Youth Development (Garden County). Based in Oshkosh, NE, this twelve-month position leads regional 4-H programming across Garden and Morrill Counties, delivering engaging, research-based youth education and community outreach.

The role requires a Master’s degree with strong teaching and youth program management skills; collaboration with extension specialists and local partners is essential

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in youth development, education, or closely related field (extension educator) is required or expected.
• Successful experience teaching in formal or non-formal settings.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate via publications, presentations, web, and social media.
• Experience and ability to work with youth and youth organizations, including understanding positive youth development.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver proactive, engaging 4-H and youth development programs across Garden and Morrill Counties.
• Collaborate with Extension specialists and educators to fulfill responsibilities and conduct applied research.
• Engage local, regional, and statewide partners to identify high-priority issues and expand program reach.
• Foster collaboration with local leaders and stakeholders to strengthen relationships with the University and communities served.
• Support reporting and program evaluation and participate in annual reporting and outreach activities.
