Job summary

North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University invites applications for an Extension Agent 4-H Youth Development in Mitchell County. The role focuses on delivering 4-H programs addressing urban, limited-resource and minority youth with a strong STEM element, including Try Healthy curricula promoting healthy eating and activity.

The agent will partner with community organizations, conduct needs assessments, and manage diverse instructional formats from clubs to after-school and camps,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a GPA requirement or higher; Master’s or Doctorate also acceptable.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to plan, market, implement and evaluate programs.
• Experience planning programs and working in diverse communities; teamwork and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute and evaluate comprehensive 4-H educational programs.
• Collaborate with county and community organizations to deliver programs and recruit participants.
• Determine program needs via needs assessments and allocate resources accordingly.
• Deliver course materials in formal and informal settings (clubs, after-school, camps, school enrichment).
• Evaluate data from advisory committees, residents and participants to determine program impact.
