Job summary

NC Cooperative Extension in Chatham County, Pittsboro, NC, invites applications for an Extension Agent, 4-H Youth Development at Assistant, Associate, or Full Agent level. You will lead and grow a county-wide 4-H program serving youth ages 5-18, delivering experiential programming and life-skill development to strengthen communities.

The role requires a relevant degree (Bachelor's required; Master’s or Doctorate preferred) and the ability to recruit and train volunteers, manage clubs, and

Qualifications

• Requires a relevant degree in youth development or related field.
• Ability to recruit, train, and supervise volunteers.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and evaluate 4‑H programs meeting county needs.
• Lead total 4‑H program in the county and collaborate with partners.
• Train 4‑H volunteers and support 4‑H clubs and school-based programs.
• Maintain records and comply with program regulations.
