Job summary

Wabash in Lafayette, IN, is seeking welders to fabricate carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum products. You will read prints, perform MIG/TIG welds, and ensure quality while meeting safety and production standards. Training via Weld School may be provided.

Candidates must pass weld tests, a pre-employment drug screen, and a respirator fit test. The role involves PPE, climbing to heights, and collaborating with teams to maintain delivery and quality.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Must pass Weld Tests associated with product line, prior to welding in production.
• Must pass respirator fit test.
• Basic reading, writing, math & verbal skill.
• Capable of following and understanding engineering prints, specifications & instructions.

Responsibilities

• Own and help improve safety, quality, and delivery performance.
• MIG and TIG weld carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless to quality standards.
• Read engineering prints and weld symbols per specifications.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on welding equipment.
• Work in tight spaces and at heights of 15–20 ft.
• Assist in other departments as needed and wear PPE.
