Job summary

Wabash is seeking skilled welders to join our manufacturing teams in Lafayette, IN. The role involves MIG and TIG welding of carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, reading engineering prints, and maintaining welding equipment.

All applicants must pass welding tests and respirator fit tests and will receive training through our in-house Weld School if needed. We emphasize safety, quality, and delivery performance, with opportunities to work at heights and in demanding environments.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Must pass Weld Tests associated with product line, prior to welding in production.
• Must pass respirator fit test.
• Basic reading, writing, math & verbal skill.
• Capable of following and understanding engineering prints, specifications & instructions.

Responsibilities

• Own and help improve our performance in Safety, Quality, and Delivery.
• Weld carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel to quality standards.
• Read engineering prints and weld symbols and follow specifications.
• Perform basic operator preventative maintenance for welding equipment.
• Maneuver in tight spaces and work at heights of 15-20 ft.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or team lead.
• Wear appropriate PPE such as safety shoes, gloves, glasses, respirators, and hearing protection.
• Ensure safety policies and practices are followed in the workplace.
