Job summary

RR Donnelley in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Sheeter Operator to bridge the gap between raw paperboard rolls and the high-precision printing process, ensuring quality and efficiency in our packaging production.

You will set up and operate high-speed sheeting equipment, inspect sheet dimensions, perform make-ready changes, handle materials, and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime, on the 3rd shift in Production & Manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Experience with industrial machinery, preferably sheeters (Marquip/Goodstrong/Maxson).
• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/32" and perform basic calculations for sheet counts and waste.
• Ability to stand for long shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• A sharp eye for catching small defects that could affect printing or die-cutting stages.
• Strict adherence to Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, and operate high-speed sheeting equipment to convert paperboard rolls into precise sheets.
• Monitor sheet dimensions, squareness, and surface quality to prevent defects.
• Review job tickets to determine specifications and perform efficient make-ready transitions between different jobs.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance on knives, rollers, and belts.
• Operate forklifts or roll-clamping equipment to load heavy rolls onto unwind stands.
• Identify and resolve mechanical issues or paper-run jams to minimize downtime.
