Job summary

RR Donnelley in Wisconsin is seeking a 3rd shift press operator to set up, adjust, operate, and maintain multiple press systems. You will perform make-ready tasks, inspect plates and cylinders, and ensure color accuracy and quality before production runs.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials and specifications, equipment and safety requirements.
• Ability to read and understand job specifications and determine appropriate press usage, press settings and materials.
• Skill to set controls, settings and adjustments and perform routine maintenance of equipment.
• Skill in routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
• Knowledge of packing pressure to obtain proper printing pressure for the job.
• Skill in using a micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctly.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a number of press equipment.
• Perform make-ready tasks such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examine plates/cylinders for imperfections and proper image positioning, prepping blankets, adjusting tension and register.
• Make color corrections and adjust press to meet quality specs prior to production.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press; perform minor repairs and replace worn parts.
• Perform periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.
