Job summary

PPG Industries, Inc. in Strongsville, OH seeks a Production Supervisor (3rd Shift) to drive safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

You will lead the assigned production area, develop standardized work, and foster engagement to achieve plant metrics. Responsibilities include leading shift meetings, prioritizing work, maintaining the safety program, optimizing workflow, and collaborating with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and EHS.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3+ years in production with supervisory/management experience in manufacturing; chemical or batch manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems, Oracle preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily shift meetings with focus on safety hazard recognition and safety tip of the day.
• Assign and prioritize work to the hourly workforce.
• Maintain the safety program and foster a Safety First culture.
• Manage production progress, including workflow optimization, staffing, and resource allocation; implement cost-saving measures to meet plant metrics.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality and EHS to solve problems; use data to identify solutions and actions.
• Foster workforce engagement, accountability and continuous improvement.
