Job summary

ABB in North Carolina seeks a Production Manager to lead a production team, ensure on-time transformation of parts and materials, and optimize line performance within safety guidelines. The role focuses on scheduling adherence, resource allocation, and continuous improvement.

You will report to the Production Manager and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet volume targets, improve equipment reliability, and maintain regulatory compliance. Onsite presence in Pinetops, NC is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading in a manufacturing or product development environment or equivalent leadership experience.
• Excellent supervisory and leadership skills.
• Some project management skills to lead small Kaizen projects.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or proven track record in leading continuous improvements projects.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs.
• Ability and willingness to travel as required.
• Candidates must already have authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Ensure production schedules meet volume requirements and inventory service levels from the demand plan.
• Identify production deficiencies, recommend equipment/facility improvements, and oversee implementation to enhance performance.
• Maintain knowledge of all safety and environmental regulations affecting the work area.
• Lead effective shift meetings and manage resolution of critical production or equipment issues with relevant teams.
• Monitor process/equipment health and use appropriate tools (WIs, SOPs, JSTs) to maintain high operational and reliability standards.
