Job summary

ABB in Mebane, NC is seeking a production leader to manage a fabrication unit, transform parts efficiently, and meet cost targets. You will ensure continuous operation, allocate resources, and drive safe practices in line with schedules and quality standards.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing leadership or 5+ years with HS diploma, plus familiarity with production operations, MS Office, and continuous improvement projects. US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3 years manufacturing/leadership experience or HS diploma with 5 years equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 3 years leading in a manufacturing or product development environment or equivalent leadership experience.
• Thorough understanding of production operations and machinery or ability to learn quickly.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
• Proficient with MS Office to complete reports and logs.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or proven track record in leading continuous improvements projects preferred.
• Project management skills to lead small Kaizen projects.
• Candidates must have work authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Lead a fabrication unit to execute production processes efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Ensure safe working culture and compliance with HSE guidelines.
• Review organizational effectiveness and drive continuous skill upgrades.
• Lead capacity planning and resource optimization for the unit.
• Ensure production scheduling meets demand plan and inventory service levels.
• Identify deficiencies, propose improvements, and oversee implementation.
• Coordinate with internal teams to resolve critical product or equipment issues.
