Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician II (3rd Shift) to maintain, repair, and service manufacturing and facility systems at the Sturgis, MI site within the Nutrition division. The role focuses on keeping production lines running, interpreting blueprints, and ensuring compliance with sanitation and GMP standards.

Ideal candidates bring 1+ years of machine repair experience, strong mechanical and hydraulic system knowledge, and a detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of machine repair experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of mechanical systems and spatial aptitude.
• Ability to troubleshoot and adjust machinery to restore proper operation.
• Knowledge of fluid and hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of lubrication procedures with oil and grease.
• Seamer proficiency.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and service manufacturing and facility systems.
• Perform skilled maintenance and repair of manufacturing and facility systems such as mechanical and building systems.
• Interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Implement methods, practices and techniques of maintaining building and facilities to identify and address recurring problems with machinery, equipment or parts.
• Conduct periodic inspections to evaluate requests for repair.
• Adhere to current sanitation and GMP requirements.
• Maintain current status on all required training.
• Be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.
