Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in Sturgis, MI is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician II (3rd Shift) to maintain, repair, and service manufacturing and facility systems at Abbott Nutrition. You will interpret blueprints, address recurring issues, and ensure sanitation and GMP compliance while supporting a safe, efficient plant environment.

The role requires 1+ year of machine repair experience in manufacturing; high school diploma or GED; and knowledge of mechanical, fluid, and hydraulic systems

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of previous experience with machine repair in a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of mechanical system, mechanical and spatial aptitude.
• Ability to troubleshoot and determine the cause of improper machine operation and make necessary adjustments and repairs to return to proper operation.
• Knowledge of fluid and hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of proper lubrication procedures with oil and grease.
• Demonstrated seamer proficiency.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled maintenance and repair services of manufacturing and facility systems such as mechanical and building systems.
• Interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Implement methods, practices and techniques of maintaining building and facilities to identify and address recurring problems with machinery, equipment or parts.
• Conduct periodic inspections to evaluate requests for repair.
• Adhere to current sanitation and GMP requirements.
• Maintain current status on all required training.
