Job Description

A manufacturer in Vandalia Ohio is seeking a dedicated Material Handler/Forklift Operator for the night shift. The role involves handling and transporting materials to support efficient production and storage operations.

Responsibilities

• Transport master rolls, pallets, raw materials, and finished products to designated production and storage areas according to work orders.
• Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and core cutters, while maintaining required certifications and completing daily equipment inspections.
• Follow production schedules, work orders, and procedures to support customer order fulfillment and maintain accurate documentation.
• Complete production-related paperwork, quality control forms, data entry, and product labeling as required.
• Monitor material handling equipment and promptly report operational issues or maintenance needs to minimize production downtime.

Essential Skills

• Experience operating sit down and stand up forklifts.
• Proficiency with a tape measure and basic math/measurement skills.
• Experience with material handling, including roll handling and pallet jack operations.
• Ability to operate overhead cranes and reach trucks.
• Familiarity with RF scanners and shipping & receiving processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Certification in forklift operation is highly desirable.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
