Job summary

Atkore International is hiring a 3rd Shift Maintenance Mechanic based in New Bedford, MA. You will be responsible for preventive maintenance on motors, conveyors, and production machines, diagnosing issues, and ensuring safe operation of all mechanical systems.

The role requires 3+ years of maintenance experience with heavy machinery, basic tools, and the ability to work overtime as needed to support production demands.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Maintenance Mechanic experience with heavy machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Experience with motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
• Must have basic mechanic tools on site.
• Strong reading comprehension of instructions in English.
• Attention to detail and safety-conscious work habits.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the safe operation of machinery and equipment by performing preventive maintenance on motors, conveyors, and production machines.
• Locates problems by observing equipment in operation and using measuring instruments.
• Removes defective parts and dismantles devices using hand and power tools.
• Inspects parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
• Maintains inventories and procures needed equipment and parts.
• Prepares maintenance reports and documents actions taken and trends.
• Collaborates with coworkers to meet productivity and site goals.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and adheres to regulations.
