Job summary

AFC Cable Systems, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the 3rd shift in New Bedford, MA. The role focuses on preventive maintenance of motors, conveyors, and production machines to ensure safe, efficient operation.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of maintenance experience, basic math skills, and the ability to understand written and spoken English. Overtime and a shift differential are included in compensation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Maintenance Mechanic experience with heavy machinery and equipment.
• Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in English.
• Good understanding of basic math for counting and calculations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe operation of machinery and equipment by performing preventive maintenance on motors, tools, conveyors, and production machines.
• Locate sources of problems by observing devices in operation and using measuring instruments.
• Remove defective parts and inspect components for wear or damage.
• Adjust parts to meet dimensional requirements using rulers, calipers, and micrometers.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies and place orders as needed.
• Collaborate with team to minimize downtime and improve productivity.
