Job summary

AFC Cable Systems, Inc. in New Bedford, MA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the 2nd shift to keep heavy machinery running on a fast-paced production floor. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to motors, conveyors, and production equipment.

You will work 4:00pm–12:00am, Monday–Friday, with overtime as needed. The position offers a competitive hourly wage and benefits, and a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Maintenance Mechanic experience with heavy machinery.
• Experience maintaining motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
• Experience with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.
• Must have basic mechanic tools on site.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written English instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on motors, conveyors, and production machines.
• Diagnose problems using measuring instruments and visual inspection.
• Replace defective parts and fabricate repairs.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and follow procedures.
