Job summary

Element2 Group is seeking a 3rd Shift Maintenance Mechanic for its busy food processing facility in New Bedford, MA. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on plant equipment during the overnight shift to keep production running smoothly.

The role requires at least 5 years in industrial maintenance, bilingual English/Spanish, and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in a cold, refrigerated environment handling fish products.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in an industrial mechanic environment
• Bilingual English/Spanish; conversational proficiency acceptable
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
• Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus
• Understanding of blueprints, drawings, and schematics
• Basic computer and math skills
• Must be able to take direction
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to lift within OSHA guidelines

Responsibilities

• Execute PMs of plant equipment and repairs around a busy production schedule
• Work with contractors: electricians, refrigeration contractors, plumbers, etc.
• Work with an evolving maintenance team and maintenance supervisor
• Create work orders and maintain inventory for replacement parts
• Perform general maintenance on OEM and custom fabricated equipment
• Communicate with team members on plant issues and work to improve plant operations
