Job summary

Dessert Holdings is seeking a Maintenance Technician 2 for our Newburyport, MA facility. This full-time, onsite role reports to the Plant Maintenance Manager and supports 3rd shift operations (10 pm–6:30 am) Sunday through Thursday to keep production equipment running.

You will perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and GMP/SQF/HACCP compliance tasks. You should bring at least 2 years of industrial mechanical experience or a two-year technical degree, plus forklift and HACCP readiness.

Qualifications

• Must have or obtain a Forklift License within 90 days of hire.
• HACCP Certification (or ability to complete successfully).
• Must have own tools (required tool list provided upon hire).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose & Repair: Identify mechanical defects and troubleshoot equipment issues to keep production running.
• Preventative Maintenance: Execute scheduled maintenance plans to reduce downtime.
• Root Cause Analysis: Investigate equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent future breakdowns.
• Team Collaboration: Work with operators and train them on maintenance best practices.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities in the CMMS system.
• Quality & Safety: Ensure compliance with SQF, HACCP, and GMP.
• Other Duties: Support additional maintenance-related tasks as needed by supervisors.
