Pelican Products in South Deerfield, MA, is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic III for the 3rd shift. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machinery and facility systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components, across a hands-on manufacturing environment.

The role requires 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience, MIG welding, basic machining, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with production and facilities.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of industrial maintenance or related experience in manufacturing.
• Strong hands-on mechanical troubleshooting and equipment repair experience.
• Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience performing electrical and general facility maintenance.
• MIG welding experience.
• Experience with basic machining operations.
• Strong knowledge and experience using hand and power tools.
• Ability to diagnose equipment failures, disassemble machinery, determine required repairs, and safely return equipment to operation.
• Experience using measurement tools and understanding measurement techniques and principles.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Basic to intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Windows applications.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with employees, leadership, and outside contractors.
• Must have your own tools.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain production machinery and facility equipment.
• Diagnose complex equipment problems and complete repairs to minimize downtime.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repairs.
• Perform piping, carpentry, painting, sheet metal, and other facility maintenance work as needed.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on plant and production equipment.
• Perform MIG welding and routine machining to repair or fabricate parts as needed.
• Identify damaged or worn components and decide on repair, fabrication, or replacement.
• Install and repair water and compressed-air lines.
• Complete major facility repairs and equipment installations.
• Use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and machine tools.
• Read measurements accurately using Vernier measuring tools and tape measures.
• Provide technical guidance to less-experienced maintenance staff.
• Identify and report equipment failures and unsafe conditions.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe condition.
• Collaborate with Production, Facilities, and other maintenance team members.
