Job summary

Pelican Products in South Deerfield, MA is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic III for the 3rd shift. This hands-on role covers mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, machining, piping, and facility systems to keep manufacturing running safely.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in industrial maintenance, strong troubleshooting skills, MIG welding, and basic machining capabilities. Must have own tools and be able to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of industrial maintenance or related experience in manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and equipment repair skills.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Electrical and general facility maintenance experience.
• MIG welding experience.
• Basic machining experience.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Ability to diagnose equipment failures and safely return to operation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain production machinery and facility equipment.
• Diagnose complex equipment problems and minimize downtime.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs.
• Carry out piping, carpentry, painting, sheet metal, and other maintenance tasks.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections on plant equipment.
• Perform MIG welding and routine machining as needed.
• Inspect components and decide on repair or replacement.
• Install and repair water and compressed-air lines.
• Lead major repairs, equipment installations, and improvements.
• Use hand and power tools and precise measuring devices.
• Read measurements with Vernier tools and tapes.
• Provide guidance to junior maintenance staff when required.
• Report failures, unsafe conditions, and quality issues.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Collaborate with Production, Facilities, and contractors.
