Job summary

Dessert Holdings is seeking a Maintenance Technician 2 in Newburyport, MA to keep our state-of-the-art equipment running and compliant with SQF, HACCP, and GMP standards.

You will perform proactive maintenance, diagnose mechanical issues, and work on a 3rd shift (10 pm - 6:30 am), Sunday through Thursday, reporting to the Plant Maintenance Manager. Candidates should have 2+ years of mechanical experience or a 2-year technical degree and own tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of industrial mechanical experience or a two-year technical degree.
• Knowledge of installing, aligning, and adjusting mechanical power transmission components (gearboxes, bearings, chains, shafts, gears).
• Familiarity with bakery or food manufacturing equipment is a plus.
• Proficiency with pneumatic systems and ability to service regulators, filters, and conductors.
• Basic welding proficiency with proper PPE and preparation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical defects and troubleshoot equipment to keep production running.
• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Investigate failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with operators and train them on maintenance best practices.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities in the CMMS system.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and workplace safety standards (SQF, HACCP, GMP).
• Support additional maintenance-related tasks as needed by supervision.
