Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, is seeking an onsite CNC machinist for Plant 52 in New York. You will perform setup and run CNC grinding/milling, read prints, monitor tooling and tolerances, and maintain shop documentation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role requires a HS diploma or equivalent with 2+ years' experience, basic math, and blueprint reading. Third shift hours and a 3,500 USD sign-on bonus for external candidates are offered.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent and minimum two years experience.
• Basic math skills, including decimals.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn multiple applications.
• Experience with measurement equipment (gauges, calipers).
• Experience with basic hand tools.
• Experience reading and interpreting and following blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine setup and runs on surface grinders and mills.
• Read, interpret and process prints, engineering and quality standards.
• Monitor tooling for wear and set tools as needed.
• Monitor dimensional tolerances and identify non-conforming parts.
• Maintain documentation and inputs (shop traveler, labor charging, inspection results).
• Identify and report process inefficiencies and machine issues.
• Follow work priorities to achieve production goals.
• Handle coolants, cleaning fluids, oils, and chemical vapors.
• Obtain and maintain required Inspection Certification(s).
• Additional duties as assigned.
• 3rd shift: Sunday - Thursday, 11:00 pm - 07:00 am
• Training Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm for ~90 days.
