Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a skilled CNC machinist for onsite operations in Carroll, IA. You will program, set up, and operate CNC and manual machines, interpreting blueprints and GD&T to produce precision metal parts. This role requires rigorous quality checks and adherence to safety standards.

We offer competitive benefits and opportunities for training. This is a 3rd shift position with 10pm–6am hours; initial training runs 6am–2pm for 3–6 months.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or GED or equivalent technical education with 6 years of relevant experience.
• Certification in core discipline within 4–5 months of employment.
• Certification on multiple programs labeled moderate to difficult.

Responsibilities

• Produce machine parts by programming, assembling, and operating CNC or manual machines.
• Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and specifications for operation and materials.
• Assemble, repair, and fabricate metal parts into sub-units or completed units.
• Take measurements and select appropriate machines for the process.
• Perform machining setups and adjustments as required.
• Conduct inspections and check SPC charts for quality control.
• Maintain records and adhere to quality and safety standards.
• Follow EHS, Quality, and CI guidelines and assist with extended shifts as needed.
