Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Decorah, IA, is seeking a Machine Operator for the 3rd shift (11:00pm–7:00am). You will set up and run machines to produce fasteners, ensure quality, and meet production goals under supervision. A strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills are required.

You will join a collaborative manufacturing team, adhere to SPC/IATF16949 guidelines, and participate in continuous improvement efforts while maintaining clean, safe work areas.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrated base mechanical skills and aptitude.
• Basic math skills for blueprint reading and gauging.
• Ability to work well with others and communicate in English.
• Ability to learn and comply with safety guidelines and IATF16949/ISO14001 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machines under supervision to meet print requirements.
• Read manufacturing blueprints and select proper tooling with supervision.
• Identify and address simple tooling and maintenance problems; escalate complex issues.
• Maintain productivity of 40–60% of machine group capacities and communicate shifts.
• Perform housekeeping and safety checks; follow all safety rules.
