Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and carry out timely repairs to keep our fleet on the road.

You will follow safety standards and DOT/OSHA regulations while supporting a team focused on reliability and service quality. Responsibilities include diagnosing faults, reading precision instruments, and welding as needed, with opportunities for training and growth in a collaborative

Qualifications

• Experience as a maintenance technician or equivalent education.
• Experience with truck repair, body and frame repair.
• Must provide own tools.
• Ability to complete required paperwork and records.
• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (when required).
• Working knowledge of most systems located on a truck/truck tractor, a semi-trailer or converter dolly
• Proficiency with reading precision instruments and digital multimeters.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform failure analysis on components and systems.
• Knowledge of DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA rules and regulations.
• Willingness to participate in training classes and attend when offered.
• Willing to work on any piece of rolling stock as directed.

Responsibilities

• Build, rebuild and repair all parts of company equipment as required.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical or other failures to motors and related equipment.
• Read precision instruments and use electronic diagnostic tools.
• Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of components and systems on trucks or trailers.
• Welding may be required to complete repairs.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA regulations.
• Maintain customer relations and perform other duties as assigned.
