Job summary

Pridgeon and Clay in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a Die Technician 2 to join our manufacturing team. You will build, tryout, and repair dies, maintain CAD data, and ensure die accuracy while following quality and safety standards.

The role requires an Associate's Degree in Tooling & Manufacturing or related program, hands-on die experience, and the ability to mentor trainees. Strong problem solving, welding and machining skills, and reliable attendance are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Associate's Degree in Tooling & Manufacturing or related program/certificate
• Ability to train and mentor Die Technician trainees
• Experience with prototype or tool & die trades
• Experience with progressive/transfer/hand-feed dies
• Machine shop and machining operations experience, including welding
• Ability to document tooling issues and prints
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to pass tests for hi-lo and crane license
• Mechanical inclination and manufacturing knowledge
• Computer literacy
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• No need for tinted safety glasses
• Excellent attendance record

Responsibilities

• Complete die build, tryout, and repair per company processes
• Maintain CAD data and die books, document issues
• Manage die inventory and tooling records
• Repair dies and oversee tooling changes as required
• Operate machine tools to spot, grind, and finish die components
• Program transfers and set up presses for die operations
• Ensure safety and 5S adherence
• Mentor and train other Die Technicians
