Job description

What You Will Do
  • Maintain and operate deburring and air grinding tools and operate speed lathes.
  • Read blueprints to verify work was completed properly.
  • Operate and perform daily/weekly checks on equipment.
  • Accurately participate in the COPQ process, utilizing the ACE portal for issues or process improvement.
  • Accurately complete production documentation and perform necessary labor transactions.
  • Operate hand tools, electrical tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment and light equipment.
  • Work under direct supervision.
  • Follow established procedures on routine work and request instructions on new assignments.
  • Apply basic job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.
  • Recognize the need for some judgment while performing semi‑routine tasks.
  • Support and follow all rules, guidelines, and standards set by EHS, Quality, and CI functions.
  • Actively participate in the Continuous Improvement process and safety related activities.
  • Work the 3rd shift Monday through Friday 10pm-6am; training 6am-2pm for the first 3-6 months.
  • Work extended shifts or overtime as required by the business.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
  • Ability to learn how to read and understand prints.
  • Basic computer proficiency (e‑mail, printing documents, internet) and ability to learn how to operate a computer to access prints and/or specified work instructions.
  • Basic shop math including knowledge of geometric tolerances.
  • Basic proficiency with identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems.
  • Ability to learn the various inspection tools needed for the job.
  • Ability to learn the tools (ball burr, flame bit, etc.) needed for each job.
  • Ability to learn and understand deburring operations.
  • Effective communication with all levels of employees and management.
  • Desire to gain basic level knowledge to deburr and clean parts in a manner necessary to produce precision parts under general supervision.
