Job summary

Saab is seeking 3rd shift Structural Assemblers at its West Lafayette, IN facility to build the aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk. Training is provided on-site, with a December 2026 start window and a starting hourly rate of $23–$25 plus a $2 shift premium.

You will work to 100% quality per procedures and contribute to a cutting-edge production system. You will read engineering drawings, use hand and power tools safely, and train new teammates while supporting continuous improvement in safety,

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to select and safely use appropriate hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain consistent quality.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks, including bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and gripping.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft structure and support final assembly on the fuselage.
• Train new team members and contribute to production system improvements.
• Complete functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle Class A surfaces including touch-up painting.
• Sign off when work is complete according to specification.
• Support training and knowledge transfer to new employees.
• Cultivate a positive and productive environment aligned with company values.
