Job summary

Saab is seeking 3rd shift Structural Assemblers in West Lafayette, IN to build the aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk. Positions include on-site training and a start date in early December 2026. You will assemble aircraft structures, train new teammates, and contribute to a state-of-the-art production system with a focus on safety and quality.

Starting hourly $23–$25 with a 3rd shift premium of $2.00 per hour. Saab emphasizes trust, drive, expertise and support in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of assembly or hand tool experience.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Safely use hand and power tools.
• Follow standardized procedures and maintain quality.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Lift up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Occasional extended hours and weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft fuselage according to procedures to meet quality requirements.
• Follow work instructions in a team-based setting and maintain quality.
• Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery and morale.
• Perform functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle Class A surfaces, including touch-up painting.
• Sign off completed work per specifications.
• Assist training and knowledge transfer to new employees.
• Contribute to a positive and productive work environment aligned with company values.
