Job summary

Saab is expanding its advanced manufacturing facility in West Lafayette, IN, and seeks 3rd shift Structural Assemblers to build the aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk. You will assemble aircraft structures, train new team members, and contribute to a state-of-the-art production system.

Starting hourly rate is $23-$25 with a $2 shift premium. Candidates should have 2+ years of assembly experience, read engineering drawings, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Follow standardized procedures and maintain quality.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Able to stand and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willing to work extended hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft structures per procedures and quality requirements.
• Train new team members and transfer knowledge.
• Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
• Perform functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle surfaces and light touch-up painting as needed.
• Sign off completed work per specifications.
• Contribute to a positive, productive work environment.
