Job summary
ConocoPhillips is seeking a 3rd Assistant Engineer for Polar Tankers, a unit of our marine fleet that transports North Slope production to West Coast refineries. You will work under the Chief Engineer to maintain diesel generators, purifiers, and electrical systems while supporting drills, safety procedures, and pollution prevention.
The role requires MMC endorsements, TWIC, and a strong commitment to safety.
Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Marine Engineering or foreign equivalent.
- Endorsements on MMC: OICEW, Able Seafarer – Engine, RFPEW, PSC, MFLP, Advanced Fire Fighting, Basic Training.
- TWIC and MMC required or achievable before start date.
Responsibilities
- Operate the engineering plant safely and efficiently.
- Maintain diesel generators, electric motors, air compressors, and L.O. purifiers.
- Perform routine maintenance on main engine lube oil systems and stern tube lube oil systems.
- Conduct electrical work aboard the vessel and participate in drills and emergencies.
- Work under supervision of Chief Engineer and 1st Assistant Engineer.
- Be on call 24 hours per day for emergencies and work 12 hours per day.
