Amerex is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented 3PL Operations Assistant to support the Operations Manager with day-to-day third-party logistics (3PL), warehouse, inventory, and shipping activities for an apparel business.

This is an entry-level position designed for someone who wants to develop experience in apparel operations, logistics, warehouse management, retail fulfillment, and supply chain. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with Excel and web-based systems, and able to communicate effectively with warehouses, carriers, vendors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

3PL & Warehouse Operations

• Assist the Operations Manager with daily communication and coordination with 3PL warehouses.
• Follow up on inbound receipts, inventory, orders, and outbound shipments.
• Track warehouse receiving and shipping activity.
• Help resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, overages, and damaged merchandise.
• Help coordinate transfers between warehouses and distribution centers.

Apparel Shipping & Retail Operations

• Assist with monitoring retail apparel orders.
• Help ensure merchandise is packed, labeled, ticketed, folded, hung, and shipped according to customer requirements.
• Assist with carton, pallet, UPC/GTIN, packing list, and shipping documentation.
• Monitor shipment deadlines and communicate potential delays to the Operations Manager.

Inventory & Order Management

• Assist with maintaining accurate inventory across 3PL locations.
• Compare system inventory against warehouse reports.
• Research inventory discrepancies and elevate issues when necessary.
• Assist with inventory reconciliation.

Transportation & Shipping

• Help quote trucking for PPD shipments
• Follow up with carriers and 3PLs regarding delayed or missed PPD shipments.
• Help maintain shipment and freight records.

Systems & Reporting

• Enter and update information in internal systems
• Use Excel to maintain operational reports and trackers.
• Prepare basic daily and weekly reports for the Operations Manager.
• Maintain organized files for orders, shipments, inventory, and warehouse documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–2 years of experience in operations, logistics, warehousing, retail, or a related field preferred.
• Apparel, retail, e-commerce, or 3PL experience is a plus but not required.
• Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Comfortable working with spreadsheets, web-based systems, and email.
• Ability to communicate professionally with warehouses, carriers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Basic understanding of retail compliance requirements.

Full time In person in New York City

40 hours per week

Salary Range- $42,000-$45,000 annually. Based on Experience.
