Job summary

Iowa 80 Group Distribution Center in Walcott, IA, seeks a 3PL Business Development Manager to lead growth of its third-party logistics capabilities, including storage, fulfillment, and shipping for external clients.

The role requires evaluating customer needs, optimizing space and processes, and building strong client relationships while driving safety and efficiency across the DC. On-site, with growth opportunities and a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, supply chain, or related field.
• 3+ years in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or 3PL operations.
• Experience with 3PL onboarding and fulfillment operations.
• Strong analytics with KPI reporting to drive performance.
• Knowledge of WMS, inventory management, and 3PL processes.
• Proven track record improving efficiency, capacity, and costs.
• Experience developing processes, policies, and service standards in a 3PL environment.
• Ability to assess customer requirements and design storage/fulfillment solutions.
• Understanding of cost control, labor utilization, and profitability.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills across teams and with customers.
• Commitment to safety, compliance, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Oversee asset protection and warehouse safety.
• Manage inventory and slotting for accuracy and saleability.
• Lead 3PL growth: storage, fulfillment, and shipping services.
• Identify and pursue new 3PL customers and opportunities.
• Build relationships with existing and prospective 3PL clients.
• Define pricing, services, contracts, and operational requirements.
• Evaluate customer needs to determine space, equipment, and processes.
• Collaborate with leadership to implement reports and fulfill business needs.
• Research equipment and software for automation enhancements.
• Coordinate with Systems and Operations to support Iowa 80 Group and 3PL ops.
• Train staff on system enhancements and cross-functional duties.
• Lead and develop a high-performing warehouse team with a safety culture.
• Support growth at retail locations by preventing warehouse-related losses.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and quality standards across operations.
• Set and monitor DC and 3PL goals for operations and customer satisfaction.
• Become a subject-matter expert in the Warehouse Management System.
