Construction Material Testing is seeking a trained 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners (Artec Leo/Eva/Space Spider) on concrete and industrial projects. You will capture, process, and deliver scan data and CAD-ready files to clients, often under time pressure at busy job sites.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating a handheld structured-light or laser scanner on real projects; bring examples.
• Working knowledge of Artec Studio or similar software; mesh cleanup, registration, export.
• Familiarity with CAD drawings and reading structural/fabrication drawings.
• Comfortable on active construction sites; able to carry equipment, climb, and work outdoors.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record; travel and fly with equipment as assigned.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar, embeds, and structures before concrete pours and for damaged assemblies.
• Control drift on large objects using reference features and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, and export to STL/OBJ/E57 and CAD formats.
• Produce deviation color maps, measurement reports, crack maps, and coordinate reports against drawings.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids for reverse engineering and hand-clean meshes for modeling team.
• Document capture procedure, equipment settings, and chain of custody on forensic matters.
• Coordinate access, permits, and safety with superintendents and plant contacts.
• Travel to regional hubs as assigned.
