Job summary

Alchemy in Federal Way, WA is seeking a Pharmacist-in-Charge to lead local operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver patient-centered care. The PIC will oversee staffing, dispensing, insurance support, and cost assistance while coordinating with central operations to optimize performance.

The role requires WA license, PharmD or RPh, and experience with 340B programs is a plus; strong leadership, communication, and cultural competence are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's (RPh) or Doctoral (PharmD) degree in Pharmacy.
• Pharmacist license in good standing in Washington.
• Experience with pharmacy software (BestRx).
• Technical and MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Google Workspace, etc.)
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, managerial, and communication skills.
• Able to efficiently operate in a fast-paced environment while fostering positive customer relations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and provide culturally sensitive care.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee local operations, including staffing for day-to-day operations.
• Fill and dispense prescriptions as permitted by Washington rules and regulations.
• Support insurance benefits investigation for medical and pharmacy benefits.
• Assess financial assistance options to minimize patient out-of-pocket costs.
• Resolve third-party rejection problems and resubmit claims for payment promptly.
• Review KPIs and coordinate with Alchemy central operations to improve performance.
• Pursue professional development in pharmacy management, 340B, HIV, etc.
• Build relationships with community, stakeholders, and clinic partners to meet needs.
• Provide direct patient care and education, including medication therapy management and counseling.
• Collaborate with physicians to discuss potential incompatibilities and ensure quality care.
• Consult providers to maximize pharmacy performance and HIPAA compliance.
• Answer calls and interact with patients and providers professionally.
• Identify problems and provide practical solutions to improve operations.
