Job summary

Alchemy is seeking a Pharmacist In Charge/Pharmacy Manager in Vermont to lead our in-house clinic pharmacy operations and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering patient-centered care.

The role emphasizes staff planning, medication dispensing accuracy, and collaboration with clinicians to optimize outcomes for a diverse patient population served by the clinic.

Qualifications

• Bachelor (RPh) or Doctoral (PharmD) degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university.
• Technical and MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Google Workspace, etc.)
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, managerial, and communication skills.
• Able to efficiently operate in a fast-paced environment while fostering positive customer relations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and provide culturally sensitive care.
• Preferred: 1 year PIC experience in full-time retail or clinic pharmacy; EMR/EHR familiarity; PioneerRx/BestRx experience; care for HIV and LGBTQ+ patients

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all local operations, including staffing for day-to-day operations.
• Fill and dispense prescriptions per State Board rules with accuracy and productivity standards.
• Support insurance benefits investigations for medical and pharmacy benefits.
• Assess financial assistance options to minimize patients' out-of-pocket costs.
• Resolve third-party rejections and resubmit claims promptly.
• Review KPIs and coordinate with the central operations team for improvements.
• Pursue professional development in areas like pharmacy management and 340B.
• Build relationships with the community, clinic partners, and stakeholders.
• Provide direct patient care and education, including MTM, counseling, and reconciliation.
• Collaborate with physicians to discuss potential drug therapy issues.
• Ensure compliance with state/federal laws and HIPAA; maintain confidentiality.
• Handle incoming/outbound calls with patients, case managers, providers, and insurers.
• Identify and solve problems to improve pharmacy operations and patient care.
• Other duties as assigned.

Alchemy is seeking a Pharmacist In Charge/Pharmacy Manager. The pharmacist will be pivotal in managing local pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and delivering exceptional patient care. This position requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to excellence, and a passion for improving patient health outcomes. Additionally, the pharmacist and pharmacy team will play a crucial part in providing pharmacy services and culturally competent care within the clinic serving a diverse, medically underserved patient population and supporting the clinic's mission to deliver high-quality, accessible care to all.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and oversee all local operations, including planning and maintaining adequate staffing for day-to-day operations.
• Fill and dispense prescriptions as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy’s rules and regulations, meeting the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy
• Support insurance benefits investigation for both medical and pharmacy benefits and
• assess financial assistance options available to minimize patient’s out-of-pocket costs
• Resolve third-party rejection problems and resubmits rejected claims for payment promptly
• Reviews key performance indicators and identifies trends and opportunities for improvement, coordinating with Alchemy central operations team
• Seek professional development opportunities that enhance his/her role in the pharmacy (e.g. pharmacy management, specialty pharmacy, health equity, 340B, HIV, Hepatitis C)
• Build strong working relationships with the community, stakeholders, and clinic partners to meet all required needs of the clinic as well as the community
• Provide direct patient care and education, including medication therapy management, counseling, and reconciliation.
• Collaborate with physicians or other medical providers to discuss potential incompatibility issues with patient prescriptions.
• Consult clinic providers, administrators, and other personnel for the purpose of providing quality patient care and maximize pharmacy performance.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations about pharmacy practice. Maintain patient confidentiality following the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
• Answer incoming and outbound calls to patients, case managers, providers, insurance companies, etc. Interact courteously with patients and team members to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships.
• Proactively identify and analyze problems and provide practical solutions to improve pharmacy operations and patient care.
• Other additional related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors (RPh) or Doctoral (PharmD) degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university.

• Familiarity with Electronic Medical/Health Records (EMR/EHR).
• Experience with pharmacy software (e.g., PioneerRx and/or BestRx).
• Has experience providing direct pharmaceutical care, serving as a drug information and patient education resource, and assisting with the monitoring of patients living with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
• Has experience providing direct pharmaceutical care, serving as a drug information and patient education resource, and assisting with the monitoring of patients who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community
