Job summary

AbbVie in North Chicago, IL seeks a Production Technician I to execute manufacturing processes in formulation, encapsulation, and packaging with GMP oversight. You will set up equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure operations stay within target OEE while supporting continuous improvement.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working across 1st–3rd shifts in a fast-paced environment. Training on batch records and safety protocols is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or degree preferred.
• 2-3 years cGMP manufacturing experience recommended.
• Strong technical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot issues.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new programs.
• Understanding of HMI controls, vision inspection systems, and product serialization.
• Familiarity with systems such as SAP and MAXIMO.
• Requires standing 8-12 hours daily and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate on the line while meeting daily production targets and priorities.
• Set up, run, blow, clean, and clear equipment per batch records and procedures.
• Perform minor equipment troubleshooting and repairs; conduct in-process quality checks.
• Train colleagues on equipment and processes as a qualified trainer.
• Uphold GMP, ALCOA, safety and housekeeping standards; maintain audit-ready production area.
