Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. in Lincoln, NE is seeking a 2nd shift Yard and Dock Coordinator to oversee dock activities, trailer movements, and yard flow. You will collaborate with site operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to keep daily operations safe and efficient.

You’ll coordinate docking, release procedures, and docking sequencing while ensuring adherence to 7S standards, safety guidelines, and company SWIs. Outdoor work in all weather is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, dock, yard or transportation environments.
• Ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Follows defined processes, safety standards, and escalation protocols.
• Strong communication skills with daily customer-facing and cross-functional interactions.
• Comfort using Microsoft Office 365 and/or Google Suite applications.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and support of dock-related equipment.
• Serve as primary contact for loading and unloading dock activities and coordinate trailer movements.
• Manage and sequence trailer docking, release, and yard flow with fleet safety standards.
• Monitor dock conditions and apply stop-work authority when unsafe; escalate as needed.
• Collaborate daily with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customer teams to manage tasks.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders and maintain customer service mindset.
• Ensure dock activities align with process guidelines, safety standards and site SWIs.
• Support dock and yard organization in line with 7S standards.
• Conduct regular visual inspections to identify risks, delays or inefficiencies.
• Use Office 365 and Google Suite to track activity and document issues.
• Provide coverage to site leadership and Lead peers as needed.
