Job summary

GXO is seeking a Yard and Dock Coordinator in Omaha for 2nd shift (2:00pm - 10:30pm). The role centers on ensuring safe, efficient trailer movements and dock operations, in collaboration with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, distribution, dock, yard, or transportation environment.
• Ability to coordinate dock/yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and varied terrain.
• Follow defined processes, safety standards, and escalation procedures.
• Strong communication for daily customer-facing and cross-functional interactions.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 or Google Suite tools.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and support of dock equipment and tools.
• Serve as primary point of contact for loading/unloading dock activities.
• Manage and sequence trailer docking, release, and yard flow.
• Monitor dock conditions and stop-work if unsafe; escalate as needed.
• Collaborate daily with site ops, transportation, yard services, and customer teams.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure dock activities align with guidelines, safety standards, and SWIs.
• Support dock/yard organization per 7S standards.
• Conduct regular visual inspections to identify risks or delays.
• Document issues and updates using Office 365/Google Suite.
• Provide coverage and operational support to site leadership and peers.
