Job summary

GXO Logistics is seeking a Weekend 2nd Shift Yard and Dock Coordinator in Council Bluffs, IA to lead dock activities and trailer movements. This hands-on role partners with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to ensure safe, efficient, and timely yard flow.

You’ll oversee dock activity, apply 7S standards, monitor conditions, and communicate with stakeholders to maintain high service levels.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, distribution, dock, yard or transportation environments.
• Ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in fast-paced ops.
• Knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Willing to work outdoors in all weather and varied terrain.
• Strong adherence to safety standards and escalation procedures.
• Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and dock equipment support.
• Coordinate loading/unloading dock activities and trailer movements.
• Manage docking, release, and yard flow with fleet safety standards.
• Monitor dock conditions and stop-work when unsafe.
• Collaborate with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customers.
• Communicate with stakeholders to maintain customer service.
• Ensure dock activities align with guidelines and SWIs.
• Support 7S workplace standards in dock and yard.
• Conduct regular visual inspections and identify risks.
• Use Office 365 and Google Suite to track activity and document issues.
• Provide coverage and operational support to site leadership.
