Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems Sector in Huntsville (AL) seeks a 2nd Shift Process Engineer to design and document manufacturing processes for electronic products and PCBA assembly. You will work with SMT, selective soldering, and conformal coating while collaborating with design, manufacturing, and quality teams.

You will lead process improvements and ensure on-time delivery, while supporting MES, PLM tools, and automated testing equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 2–4 years of relevant work experience, or a Master’s with 0–2 years.
• Willingness to work weekend shift (Fri-Sun) and train on 1st shift initially.
• Experience with SMT, Through Hole Soldering, and Conformal Coating preferred.
• Experience with Costpoint or Agile/Windchill PLM is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute manufacturing processes for electronic products.
• Support PCBA production through SMT, through-hole soldering, coating, and related processes.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality to validate build strategies.
• Create machine programs and oversee manufacturing activities execution.
• Coordinate with operations to finalize assembly for delivery to customers.
• Work with production control to meet delivery schedules.
