Job summary

The role emphasizes leadership, safety, and quality, with responsibility for supervising production supervisors and ensuring compliance with OSHA, USDA, and HAACP regulations. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred) and 5+ years in related industry with supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma with equivalent experience or college degree preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years in related industry; 5+ years supervisory experience in a meat processing facility (pork/beef) preferred; knowledge of OSHA/USDA/HAACP regulations.
• Computer Skills: Standard computer skills.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication with all levels including government officials.
• Special Skills: Leader, problem solver, team player.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage subordinate supervisors, hire/train, plan and direct work, evaluate performance, and address issues.
• Travel: 0-20%
• Other Requirements: Strong managerial skills, safety and attendance records, food safety responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist in controlling expenses and ensure policy compliance.
• Coordinate federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements.
• Oversee shift operations and plant safety, sanitation, and quality.
• Manage and train production supervisors; ensure labor standards.
• Collaborate with department heads to meet safety, production, and quality targets.
• Lead people by example and make sound judgments with follow-up.
