Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. in Denison, IA is seeking a Superintendent for the 2nd shift to lead a multi-shift production team of Supervisors, coordinate daily targets, and ensure high-quality products are produced on schedule.

You will drive operational efficiency, champion safety and ergonomics, ensure USDA/compliance standards, and lead training and continuous improvement initiatives to elevate plant performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience leading and coaching staff or projects.
• Experience using SAP and MS Office to streamline processes.

Responsibilities

• Drive operational efficiency and profitability while managing staffing and production schedules.
• Champion safety and ergonomics through training and program implementation.
• Ensure quality, sanitation, and compliance with USDA/regulations through line meetings and standards.
• Lead training and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance and plant efficiency.
• Provide strong leadership on the production floor to motivate and guide teams.
